Jalandhar, Aug 20 : At least 20 people were injured in a road accident that took place this morning amid incessant rains near PAP chowk on Jalandhar-Pathankot National Highway. According to police sources, a four wheeler, carrying more than 24 devotees, was on its way from Gurdaspur to Khambra village about eight km from here on Jalandhar-Nakodar Highway to participate in the weekly prayers at a church, when it overturned on the slippery road caused due to heavy rains in between PAP Chowk and Chaugitti. The police immediately rushed to the spot and transported the injured to the civil hospital. Volunteers of the church also rushed to the spot to help the injured. UNI
