KATRA, SEPTEMBER 22: As part
of Navratra Festival 2017, all India Devotional Song Competition began at Yog
Ashram Complex last evening with lighting of traditional lamp by Yog Acharya Swami
Yoga Nand Ji Maharaja in presence of celebrity singers Nidhi Kohli, Peji Shah
Koti (Brother of famous singer Master Saleem).
Others present were Additional SPs Naresh Singh and H.K.Nazar, SDPO
Ashok Sharma, Rakesh Wazir Chairman Devotional Song Committee, SHO Arvind
Sambyal, Shyam Lal Kesar, Shiv Kumar Sharma,Virender Kesar and locals.
In the preliminary round of competition, Vivek
Mohan from Jammu and Anmol Raja from Hoshiarpur bagged 1st position while Mohinder
Soni from Jammu and Sukhjinder Yamla from Amritsar got 2nd position and 3rd
position was clinched by Sargam Sharma from Link road Jammu, among the 12
auditioned participants in which 5 participants were from outside state and 7
participants were from the state. The winners were provided cash prizes of
Rs.10,000, Rs.5,000 and Rs.3,000 respectively.
The Devotional Song Competition was adjudged by a panel of experts which
was comprised of Dr. Usha Bhagati Ex. HOD Music, Prof. Parveen Sabharwal
Professor Music Department and Ravi Magotra former Programme Head in Radio
Kashmir Jammu.
The grand finale of the All India Devotional Song Competition will be
held on 29th of this month and winners will be awarded with gold amounting Rs.
3 Lakh and a recording contract with Venus Records and Tapes ltd. besides
the runners ups will get gold worth 1 lakh and Rs. 50,000/- respectively.
The proceedings of the competition were conducted by Rakesh Wazir, who
is also the Chairman of this competition. He informed that famous singers lined
up for their guest performances on the stage of the event are Shanker Sahni and
Amrinder Bobby on 25th September, Hasmat/Sultana on 26th September, Nooran Sisters on 27th
September, Diljaan and Masha Ali on 28th September
and finally Hans Raj Hans will perform in the finals to be held on 29th
September and live telecast of the event is available on Shradha MH1 from 9 PM onwards
daily.
The All India Devotional Song Competition is being organized by SMVD
Shrine Board and Department of J&K Tourism with active support of District
Administration, Shradha MH 1, Shiv Khori Shrine Board, J&K Bank, Ramada
City Center (now open) Jammu, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Super Specialist
Hospital, Pure Roots Herbal, Nidesh Builders Pvt.Ltd. Jammu, 92.7 Big FM and
the local host Community.
The first position holders of daily competition will compete with the
winners of the quarter final on 28th of Sept., for their entry into
final and the quarter final will be held on 27th Septemberwhich will be of 2nd
and 3rd position holders of daily competition.
It is worthwhile to mention here that entries of the preliminary rounds
