Sangli, Maharashtra, Oct 21: In a gruesome incident on Saturday wee hours, atleast 11 labourers including five women were killed and 15 sustained grievous injuries after the truck in which they were travelling in overturned near Taasgaon-Kawathe Mahakal highway in Maharashtra's Sangli. According to police, the incident took place at around 0400 hrs near Yogewadi village on Tasgaon-Kawathe Mahankal highway after the driver of the truck lost control of the vehicle. Police said that the truck was carrying about 25 persons and was also loaded with tiles from Vijapur in Karnataka to Karad in Satara district. Police added that ten people, who were trapped under the trench, died on the spot while one died during the treatment. Three among 15 who were injured in the accident are stated to be in serious condition. The injured were identified as Indubai Nimbalkar (30), Parshuram Pujari (25), Bassamma Pujari (45), Rupesh Rathod (27), Santosh Munjale (16), Ashok Birajdar (50), Laxmibai Maadar (40), Bebi sheikh (45), sahebanna Nayanmant(65), Nadappa Nimbalkar (8), Balbhim Kale (23), Prabhu Balsuri (30), Jayashri Balsuri (21) Sudharak Balsuri (51), Suresh Koli (30), Balsinhppa Talwar (70), Kantappa Kale (35), Bhima talwar (50) and Sahebanna Gangalmal (40), all residents of Gulbarga of Vijapur in Karnataka state.
