POONCH OCTOBER 27: A motor
bike rally was organized by Motor Vehicles Department Poonch in collaboration
with Awake India, a social organisation.
The rally was flagged off by Deputy Commissioner, Tariq Ahmad Zargar, in
presence of Chairman Awake India, Ayaz Mughal, SSP and Additional District
Development Commissioner from DC Office.
SSP, Additional Superintendent of Police, alongwith ARTO Poonch,
participated in the rally alongwith the volunteers of Awake India namely Yasar
Mughal, Sajid Qazi, Mukjhtar Khan, Tahir Zaman, Nishad Mughal, Rameez Ahmed,
Arshad Khan and others.
The objective of the rally was to raise awareness regarding safety
measures to be followed by drivers in general and road users in particular.
The rally passed through various routes including Qila Bazaar, Hospital
Road, Jail Road and culminated at Dakbanglow Poonch.
Speaking
on the occasion, DC said that such awareness programmes shall be made a
continuous process in the district for general awareness of people to reduce
fatalities on roads.
ARTO stressed the volunteers to become messengers of road safety
measures so as to create awareness among people.
