Lucknow, Dec 1: BJP mayoral candidates are leading in 12 out of the 16 seats in Uttar Pradesh civic polls.
After two rounds of counting, the BJP mayoral candidates are leading in 12 while its nearest rival BSP are leading in three and Congress candidate in one.
However, the results of the ward members elections for the Nagar Palika and Nagar Panchayats have started pouring in with BJP again doing better than the rival political outfits.
Of the total 17 results announced for the ward members of Nagar Palika, BJP has won 4 while BSP won one seat. Rest 12 went to the Independents. In the Nagar panchayat wards, of the total 65 announced so far, BJP won in 12 seats, BSP in 3 and rest are Independents.
In the trends available for Mayors seats, BJP Mayoral candidate is leading by over 1,000 votes in Moradabad, BSP second, SP third and Congress fourth. In Gorakhpur, BJP Mayoral candidate Sitaram Jaiswal is leading by over 1,500 votes while in Bareilly, BJP Mayoral candidate Umesh Gautam is leading by 800 votes.
In Varanasi, BJP Mayoral candidate Mridula Jaiswal is leading by over 2,500 votes, while in Ferozabad, Payal Rathore of BJP is leading by over 4,700 votes. 
In Saharanpur too, BJP mayoral candidate Sanjeev Walia is leading by a slender margin of around 650 votes in the first round.
BJP mayoral candidates are also leading in Ayodhya and Lucknow. In Lucknow, BJP mayoral candidate Sanyukta Bhatia is leading by over 5,000 votes against SP candidate Meera Vardhan.
In Ayodhya, BJP mayor candidate Rishikesh Upadhaya is leading by around 700 votes. 
BSP Mayoral candidates are leading in Meerut, Moradabad and Jhansi, while Congress is leading in Mathura. UNI
