My job now is to retire: Sonia on Rahul’s elevation as Congress President

New Delhi, Dec 15: A day ahead of Rahul Gandhi’s formal elevation as Congress president, Ms Sonia Gandhi, the longest serving party chief till now, on Friday said that her role was now to retire.

"My role now is to retire," Ms Gandhi told NDTV here.
The statement came a day ahead of Rahul’s formal elevation to the top post in the Congress party.
Rahul, who is the sixth member from the Nehru Gandhi family to take the reins of the Congress, was 
on December 11, announced elected unopposed to the post of party president. He was the only candidate in the fray after the end of the deadline for withdrawal of nominations. UNI
