New Delhi/Greater Noida, Jan 12: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said that the government wants to promote the nation’s youth as innovators and transform them into job creators.
Speaking after inaugurating the National Youth Festival (NYF), via video conferencing , the PM said,'we were born after 1947,. Thus, we did not have the honor to take part in the freedom struggle. But, we have the opportunity to fulfill the dreams of the great men and women who devoted their lives for our freedom.
We have to create India that our freedom fighters dreamt of. We want to make our youth job creators. They should be encouraged to become the ones who innovate.'
Addressing the public at five-day long Fest, which marks the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, the PM said,'Some people will tell you- today's youth does not have 'Dhairya' (patience) . In a way, this is what ignites an innovative zeal in our youth. It enables our youngsters to think out of the box and do new things."
Pointing out that during his monthly radio address in 'Mann Ki Baat' on December 31 he had called for organizing mock parliaments in various districts of the country, the PM said that such mock parliaments will further the spirit of discussion among the youth. UNI
