Jan 8: Reacting to Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) acid attack threat on all those who
participate in panchayat polls in Jammu and Kashmir, main opposition National
Conference working president Omar Abdullah said 'pellet or acid” people are
threatened with being blinded.
Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, the former chief
minister said, 'If it isn’t pellets it’s acid. One way or the other people are
threatened with being blinded.'The threat by a person, believed to be HM’s 'operational commander' Riyaz Naikoo, was recorded in an audio clip which is doing rounds on social media sites, including Facebook and Whatsapp.
“The Panchayat elections are coming. This time we would not threaten anyone or kill anyone. Because in the past 28 years we have been threatening those (participating in elections) but nothing happened,” the voice in the audio clip could be heard saying. UNI
