New Delhi, Feb 10: Bharatiya Janata Party said on Saturday that there were no differences with the Telugu Desam Party and after the division of Andhra Pradesh, the mother state has been provided funds for which is entitled to and the rest was implementation.
BJP spokesperson GVL Narasimha Rao and party's state unit president K Haribabu said in a press conference here that it was not possible to give special status to Andhra Pradesh in the changed situation, but instead it was being given special assistance. 
He said that there was a meeting with Finance Minister Arun Jaitley regarding the state's revenue loss and financial support for the construction of institutions in line with the law, in which TDP leaders were also present. He said the Congress has betrayed the people of the state but the Modi government was trying to do justice with it.
The TDP is in alliance the BJP at the Centre but during the Budget Session of Parliament, its MPs disrupted proceedings of the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha demanding financial support to Andhra Pradesh.
Mr Rao and Mr Haribabu said for revenue loss to Andhra Pradesh, the Centre has given around Rs 4,000 crore to the state. The total amount will be given during from 2015 to 2020. 
About Rs 4,000 crore have been provided for Polavaram project and more would be given for this, they said.
He said for construction of the new capital, Rs 2,500 crore have been given and Rs 1,000 crore more will follow. Under the special development package, there is a provision of Rs 350 crore in every financial year. 
People were being provided 24-hour electricity in the state thus solving the power crisis, he said.
The BJP leaders said many higher educational institutions were being constructed and necessary steps were being taken to accelerate the work of establishment of railway and other institutes. He said for the projects worth Rs one lakh crore on highways were being implemented in Andhra Pradesh.
They said the Modi Government was committed towards the all-round development of the state. Efforts were being made to give every possible help to Andhra Pradesh, but problems were being faced in land acquisition, they added. UNI
