New Delhi, Mar 9: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday threatened to go on a hunger strike if the sealing problem is not resolved before March 31.
'If the sealing problem is not resolved before March 31, then Kejriwal will sit on a hunger strike. We will put pressure on the Central Government,' the CM said while interacting with traders at Amar Colony market where BJP's Central Government controlled MCD did the sealing forcibly.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Azad Singh and AAP leader Madan Lal were also present.
The traders said to Mr Kejriwal, 'We are merchants not thieves, why is the Union Government-administered MCD acting with mala fide intentions towards us?"
'I am with you, do not worry,' Mr Kejriwal assured the traders.
'All traders are suffering due to the sealing. This issue is not linked to a particular party. If the MPs of BJP, Congress and AAP shut down Parliament for two days, the sealing will be stopped within 24 hrs,' he said.
The CM said, 'on the issue of sealing, I met several traders. There is a need to change the master plan. There is a need to make changes in many laws. Now there is only one way to stop sealing, if the ordinance comes, then all traders will get relief.'
'All of our AAP MPs are constantly raising their voice in Parliament against forced sealing being done by the Central Government-ruled MCD. On Monday, the session will start and again we will raise voice against sealing,' Mr Singh said. UNI
