New Delhi, Mar 12: Congress party president Rahul Gandhi on Monday renewed his attack on Finance
Minister Arun Jaitley in connection with the Punjab National banking scam.
The Indian National Congress chief alleged that the FM’s
silence on the scam was to protect his lawyer-daughter, who was paid a large retainer by some of the
accused just a month before the fraud became public.
In a tweet, Mr Gandhi wondered why the firm of daughter of Mr Jaitley’s lawyer-daughter was not raided by the Central Bureau of Investigation when other companieshad come under its scanner. Other law firms of the accused, the Congress party chief alleged, had been raided by the CBI.
'It's now revealed that our FM's silence on the PNB scam was to protect his lawyer-daughter, who was paid a large retainer by the accused just a month before the fraud became public. When other law firms of the accused have been raided by the CBI, why not hers?' Mr Gandhi tweeted. UNI
