Ropar, May 24: Rayat-Bahra
Ropar Campus has decided to introduce new courses of study keeping in view the
demand of the employment market. These new courses had immense employment
potential and were aimed at preparing students to get jobs in different
sectors.
Announcing
this at a media briefing here today, Gurvinder Singh Bahra,
Chairman of the Rayat Bahra Group, said that the new courses of study being
started from this academic session included B. Voc in Agriculture,
Beauty and wellness, Tourism and Hospitality, and Networking and
Hardware. The other courses being started included B. Sc.
Agriculture (Hons), M. Sc. (Computer Science), and M. Sc. (Chemistry). All
these courses would be run under affiliation with the IKG Punjab Technical
University and MOU with respective skill sector councils at the national level.
Bahra on this occasion also announced that the Skill
Development Centre (Under the Punjab Skill Development Mission) to bridge the
gap between unemployed and uneducated, was training youth in 12 different
sectors including automobile, healthcare,
agriculture, food, retail, financial services and
insurance industry (Banking), electronics, IT and ITES
(Information Technology Enabled Services), pharmacy, and
telecom.
He said
that the Rayat Bahra students being equipped with industry relevant skills,
there has been an upswing in placements and with more than 375
companies have visited different institutions of the Group. These include 183
in engineering and technology, 95 in management and computers, 35 in hotel
management, 46 in pharmaceutical science and health sciences, and 20 in law and
education. Students have been offered very attractive and lucrative pay
packages.
Bahra said the Rayat Bahra Group with two global universities,
two international campuses, six campuses in three States, and 65 recognised
institutes is a hub of excellence in academic pursuits with over 35,000
students on its rolls.
Dr Suresh Seth, Campus Director Rayat-Bahra Ropar Campus, said the Rayat
Bahra Group of Institutions (RBGI) has introduced a number of
new courses in collaboration with top national and international companies to
increase the employment potential of the students.
