New Delhi, Jan 12: Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Ashutosh on Friday asked Chief Justice of
India (CJI) Dipak Misra to give an explanation to the nation on the issue
raised by the four judges of the Supreme Court.
"This is extra ordinary and unprecedented.
Judges holding PC. Now the position of CJI is very vulnerable. He should
explain to the nation," the AAP leader tweeted after senior-most Judge of
the Supreme Court, Justice Jasti Chelameswar, along with three other apex court
judges of the SC collegium addressed a news conference raising their concern on
the administration in the Apex court and slamming the CJI by saying that such
departures from convention had already damaged the image of the
judiciary.
Calling the issue a 'serious' threat to Indian Democracy, Ashutosh said, "last Pillar is also crumbling. Needs serious remedial steps."
Ashutosh said that if the matter is related to Judge Loya’s death then it is far more serious and it will shake the entire establishment and people’s faith in Democracy.
Earlier in the day, the four judges said that they had met the CJI, citing all administrative flaws, but they had to come before the media to make the Nation aware of the situation after no solution emerged. UNI
