New Delhi, Jul 18 :  Amidst the ongoing confusions over the appointments of support staffs, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) today announced Bharat Arun and Sanjay Bangar as the new bowling coach and assistant coach of Team India respectively.
Speaking to the mediapersons after a meeting of four-member panel comprising Committee of Administrators (CoA) member Diana Edulji, CEO Rahul Johri, acting secretary Amitabh Choudhary and acting president CK Khanna in Mumbai, Choudhary said that Arun's tenure with the team will continue till the 2019 Cricket World Cup.
He also said that Bangar will continue to serve as the assistant coach of the Indian team.
Arun had earlier served as the bowling coach of the men in blue when newly-appointed chief coach Ravi Shastri was in the role of team director.
It was Shastri, who after his appointment as chief coach, had recommended Arun's name for the bowling coach.
Commenting on the roles of Rahul Dravid and Zaheer Khan, Choudhary said that the duo will serve the team as consultants.
Meanwhile, Shastri, who was also present at the board headquarters in Mumbai said,"I've spoken to both, as recent as three to four days ago and they are two fantastic cricketers of India.
Their inputs will be invaluable.
They will be on board once they have spoken to the authorities concerned.
" Notably, the newly appointed members first assignment will start with India's tour of Sri Lanka starting from July 26, where the Virat Kohli-led side will play three Tests, five ODIs and one T20I against the hosts.UNI
