KISHTWAR, AUGUST 22: In view of the upcoming festival of Eid- ul- Azha, Deputy Commissioner, GN Balwan today convened a meeting of all the district and sectoral Officers to discuss and review the necessary arrangements required to be made for smooth and peaceful celebrations.
The meeting was attended by officers of Army, Police, Revenue CRPF,CISF,RDD Health, PDD, PHE, Forest, PWD (R&B),CAPD Traffic, Sheep Husbandry, Traffic, Information, Municipal, Drug and Food Safety, , Fire & Emergency and representatives of Auqaf Islamia Kishtwar.
While reviewing the arrangements, Deputy Commissioner impressed upon all the officers to put in place all the decisions and directions well in time for smooth and enthusiastic conduct of Eid-ul-Azha festival.
During the meeting the DDC directed the officers to ensure the proper supply of power and water, transport and ration. The Municipal authorities were directed to launch a cleanness drive in the town and at Eidgah and make functional all the street lights so that people may not face any inconvenience.
Market checking squads were also directed for strict implementation of approved market rates of chicken, mutton, bakery and other necessary items. PHE department assigned the work of barricading the Eidgah and keeping available of water reservoir at the venue. Chief Medical Officer was asked to keep ambulance and medical staff available on the day to meet any exigency.
