New Delhi, Aug 18 : Delhi Home Minister Satyendar Jain today administered oath to the officers and employees of the Delhi government to work for the harmony of all people. "Home Minister Satyendar Jain administered sadbhavana (harmony) pledge to the officers and employees of the Government at Delhi Secretariat to observe 'Sadbhavana Divas'," a Government statement said. Mr Jain administered them the oath that they will work for the emotional oneness and harmony of all the people of India regardless of caste, region, religion or language. Further they shall resolve all differences among them through dialogue and constitutional means without resorting to violence. "The 'Sadbhavana Divas' is observed on August 20 – the birthday of Rajiv Gandhi (former Prime Minister). This year falling on Sunday which is Holiday of Central Government offices, it is being observed today," the statement said. UNI
