REASI, SEPTEMBER 22: On the
eighth day of “Swachhta hi Seva” campaign launched in the district, manifold activities were undertaken
by the district administration and peripheral offices to mark successful
conduct of the campaign.
The municipality Reasi engaged over 450 participants in the cleanliness
drive launched from main bazaar to Trikuta Shiksha Niketan School. Apart from
cleaning, Fogging of spray was also undertaken. A total of 650 participants
including students took part in the cleaning of Government Higher Secondary
School (Boys) Reasi and its surrounding areas.
The staff of Sheep Husbandry Department Mahore began the campaign by
collecting wastes and garbage outside the office and its surroundings areas.
The collected material was disposed in very traditional way of unearthing. The
officials remained busy in removing garbage from Fish Farm Anji Reasi. The
wastes were removed from water pipes, drains, boundary walls and main lawn
besides dusting of foot path from main road to the farm.
In block Panthal, the cleanliness campaign was initiated jointly by
employees and local people in which foot paths and roads were cleaned. The
schools also evoked massive response to this campaign. The students and
teachers cleaned the schools and play grounds.
The Tehsil Office Mahore undertook plantation of trees in collaboration
with Forest and Rural Development Department. The main focus was laid on
removal of congress grass and other unwanted weeds from roof tops and around
the government offices.
The health department laid focus on PHC Panasa, PHC Jij, PHC Tote, PHC
Bharak and District Hospital Reasi. The doctors and paramedical staff remained
busy in removing unwanted bushes, plastics and garbage from outside health
centers and also from the roof of buildings.
Tehsil Pouni undertook sanitation drive in close association with local
people. All prominent places including roads and lawns were cleaned by using
local tools. The stakeholders launched door to door visits and activities to
connect the people with this cleanliness mission.
At Katra, the sanitation campaign was started in the premises of
Veterinary Dispensary Katra where the staff rooted out outgrown bushes and
unwanted weed. The vicinity was cleared of heaps of garbage dumped undesirably
in the surroundings. Similar activities were held in other sub-centers of the
department.
