SAMBA, 21ST OCTOBER: The
National Police Day also known as Police Commemoration Day was observed by
District Police Samba by organising an impressive tribute paying function.
Minister
for Industries and Commerce, Chander Prakash Ganga was the chief guest. Rashpal
Verma Vice Chairman OBC Advisory Board, MLA Samba Dr. Davinder Kumar Manyal,
MLA Hiranagar Kuldeep Raj were also present on the occasion.
A large
number of civil society members and officials of District Police, Army / PMF and District Administration also attended the tribute paying
ceremony.
The Minister along with other guests paid floral tributes to the martyrs who laid down their lives for unity and
integrity of the nation in different part of the country. Ganga said that
Police play an important role in case of any mishap or untoward incident besides
maintaining law and order. He lauded the role of security forces especially
J&K Police in fighting anti-national elements. He assured that government was committed to the welfare measures of police officers /
officials.
On the occasion, 19 families of Police martyrs from District Samba were
honoured by the District Police. The programme was organised under the
supervision of SSP Samba Anil Magotra. Senior police officers also interacted
with family members of martyrs and presented them gift.
Others present at the programme were ADC Samba Tilak Raj Sharma, ACR
Samba Wasim Raja Khan , Addl SP Samba Raja Adil Hamid , DSP HQR Tanveer Ahmed
former legislators Yashpal Kundal and Som Nath.
