Kick starts Rs 1.6 cr blacktopping work

         SAMBA OCTOBER 27: Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Parkash today kick started  black topping work of road from Border Village Nanga to Ramgarh town.
The 5.5 km blacktopping work is being executed by PWD at an estimated cost  of Rs 1.6 crore.
          The Minister said that this vital work on road has fulfilled the long pending demand of locals which shall benefit defence forces and rural population immensely. He said that ensuring an expanded road network in rural areas besides development of border areas is priority of the present government and steps are being taken up to upgrade rural infrastructure.
          He informed that Central University Road has been approved by Technical committee and work is expected to start within 15 days. Besides, an overhead bridge worth Rs 35 crore has been sanctioned by the Government of India and work shall be initiated soon. He further added that most of the link roads from Bari Brahmana to Gurah Slathian falling under Vijaypur assembly constituency have been upgraded and improved which will boost local economy besides ensuring road safety.
          The Minister also met local delegations, who apprised him of various issues pertaining to their areas.He assured them that their demands would be met in a time bound manner.

The Minister was accompanied by SSP Anil Magotra, Xen PWD K. S Nathyal, Xen PDD Ashok Gupta besides other senior officers of concerned departments.
