Agartala,
Oct 18: Surrendered militants of All Tripura Tiger Force (ATTF) under the
banner of Tripura People’s Democratic Front (TPDF) have called for convention
to discuss about their problem at Easrai under Sidhai police station of West
Tripura on October 21. ATTF’s former supremo Ranjit Debbarma said 2500
returnees would attend the meeting, which will make a threadbare discussion and
way forward to manage their livelihood. He said the deliberation session will
be focussed on four demands - withdrawal of pending cases against all
surrendered ATTF and TPDF activists, rehabilitation and security to the
surrendered members of ATTF and TPDF proper implementation of ATTF accord and a
respectable political salutation to the ongoing peace talks between the Centre
and the banned outfit NLFT. Mr Debbarma severely criticized the apathy of the
state government towards rehabilitation of surrendered militants and claimed
that ATTF has no relation with any political organizations. “We oppose demand
for any separate State in Tripura and we do not support Twipraland demand as
persuaded by IPFT,” Mr Debbarma said. “The state government is grossly
negligent about plights of surrendered militants. We demand implementation of
‘Peace Agreement’ signed in 1993 between Government of Tripura and ATTF in true
letter and spirit,” he said. UNI
