New Delhi, Nov 23: The Election Commission on Thursday allotted the
two leaves poll symbol to the unified AIADMK.
In its order, the Commission said, 'This order
is passed in the matter of an internal dispute in the All India Anna Dravida
Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), a state recognised political party in the state of
Tamil Nadu and Union Territory of Puducherry. The AIADMK party has been
allotted the symbol 'Two Leaves' as its reserved symbol in the said state and
union territory under the provisions of the Election Symbols (Reservation and
Allotment) Order, 1968 (hereinafter, 'Symbols Order'),' the order said. The Commission had frozen the symbol on March 22
and the decision came after the poll panel heard the O Panneerselvam and V K
Sasikala factions, who staked their respective claims on the party symbol. UNI
