Kolkata, Nov 18: The
World Food India 2017, held in Delhi, where Bengal had a major presence, has turned out to be a happy
hunting ground for the State Government.
The sessions over the three days were very useful for the food processing
and allied sectors. More than 20 government-to-business (G2B)
meetings (i.e., between departments of the State Government, which
had participated at WFI, and various companies) were held, as well
as many business-to-business (B2B) meetings (i.e., between
Bengal-based and outside companies). It has turned out that many
entrepreneurs are extremely interested in investing in Bengal in the food
processing sector. They have expressed eagerness for signing
memoranda of understanding (MoUs) at the Bengal Global Business
Summit (BGBS) 2018, to be held on January 16 and 17. Approximately
Rs 500 crore is expected to be invested. UNI
