Sh. Anil P. Joshi, Founder Himalayan Environmental Studies & Conservation
Organisation (HESCO), Dehradun, a Padma Shri Awardee, called on Governor N.N.
Vohra at the Raj Bhavan.
Governor and
Dr. Joshi had wide ranging discussions about the vital importance of
technological infusion in the entire developmental arena, in the rural areas,
to enable higher productivity and raising farming family incomes. Governor
lauded Dr. Joshi’s continuing endeavours to promote the earnings of farmers
through various technological innovations in the North Western Himalayan States
of Uttrakhand, J&K and Himachal Pradesh through TIME-LEARN Programme which
is a joint initiative of Science for Equity, Empowerment & Development
(SEED), Department of Science and Technology (DST), New Delhi, Himalayan
Environmental Studies & Conservation Organisation (HESCO), Dehradun and
Wild Life Institute of India, Dehradun for addressing environmental
conservation and sustainable development of mountainous ecosystem.
Governor has invited Dr. Joshi to assist
in the establishment of a Technology Demonstration Park in a rural area in
Jammu Division.
