Ahmedabad, Dec 12: Continuing his temple run, new Congress president-designate Rahul Gandhi visited Jagannath temple here.
On the last day of campaign for the second phase of polls, Mr Gandhi offered pooja at the temple located at city's Jamalpur area. The locality falls under Jamalpur Khadia assembly segment -- which has Muslim majority voters but was won by BJP's nominee Bhushan Bhatt in 2012.
In the run up to the Gujarat polls, Mr Gandhi has visited several temples, including the likes of Dwarkadish temple, Chotila temple, Khodaldham in Kagvad, Somnath temple and Jalaram Bapa temple.
The Congress attempt has been to counter perception about it that turned a party of 'minority appeaser'.
The BJP has questioned Mr Gandhi's new-found love for temple visit and often asked him to clarify his and party's stand on Ram temple at Ayodhya.
BJP chief Amit Shah also said, "I wish Mr Rahul Gandhi continue to visit temples even after these Gujarat elections". UNI
