New Delhi, Dec 15: The Lok Sabha, on the first day of the winter session, on Friday paid tributes to its sitting and former members who passed away during the intersession, and also saw Prime Minister Narendra Modi introducing his new ministers and a new member taking oath, after which the House was adjourned for 
the day.
The sitting members who passed away are Sultan Ahmad(Trinamool Congress), who represented Uluberia constituency of West Bengal, Taslim Uddin (RJD), who was elected from Araria constituency of Bihar and Chandnath(BJP), who represented Alwar constituency of Rajasthan.
As soon as the House assembled for the day, Mr Sunil Jhakhar of the Congress, who has been elected from Gurdaspur constituency, was administered oath by the newly-appointed Lok Sabha Secretary General Sneh 
Lata, who happens to be the first woman officer to hold the charge.
After the oath, Speaker Sumitra Mahajan asked the Prime Minister to introduce the ministers with elevated ranks or with new or additional charges. These included Cabinet Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan, Piyush Goel, Nirmala Sitharaman and Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Ministers of State with Independent charge Rajkumar Singh, Hardeep Puri and KJ Alphons, Ministers of State Shiv Pratap Shukla, Anant Kumar Hegde, GS Shekhawat and Satya Pal Singh. 
Following introduction of the Ministers by the Prime Minister, Ms Mahajan formally introduced the new Secretary General. UNI
