New Delhi, Jan 13: Terming as malicious vendetta' the raids by the Enforcement Directorate at the residences of senior Congress leader P Chidambaram's son Karti Chidambaram in Delhi and Chennai in connection with the Aircel-Maxis case, the Congress on Saturday said the ED and the CBI were being used as 'captive puppets' to take political revenge.
Reacting to the raids, AICC media incharge Randeep Surjewala told a TV channel that they were not surprised by the malicious vendetta being unleashed against senior Congress leaders including P Chidambaram and his son.
"Everyday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government use the ED and the Central Bureau of investigation (CBI) as captive puppets to seek revenge from the opposition,' he said.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Saturday raided the residence of senior Congress leader P Chidambaram's son Karti Chidambaram at five places in Delhi and Chennai, an official source confirmed here.
The search is being conducted in connection with an investigation into the FIPB (Foreign Investment Promotion Board) approval in the Aircel-Maxis case.
The ED had issued fresh summons to Karti Chidambaram in INX media case on January 16 after he skipped his appearance before ED on January 11. UNI
