Tapovan, Dharmshala, Jan 12: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jairam Thakur on Friday his government would expedite all development projects and review those unveiled by the previous Congress government.
Participating in the the discussion on the thanksgiving motion on the Governor's address, he said the Centre has sanctioned 63 national highways and Rs.1,200 crore for the All India Institute of Medical Sciences.
At least 62 detailed project project reports are under consideration as the consultants have long time would be completed soon. He said that the state took three years to allot land for AIIMS. 
He said the Congress government spent Rs.7 crore on 20,000 youth under employment allowance scheme, while it had to provide employment avenues to as many as 12 lakh youth.
He said though providing employment to such a large number is not possible, but the new government would ensure employment by self-employment and creation of jobs in public and private sector.
Mr Thakur also blamed the Congress government for opening a large number of goverment institutions which now faced staff shortages, particularly in the health and education sectors.
The Chief Minister said the Gudiya rape case and the death of a forest guard have shamed an otherwise peaceful state. 
He announced Rs. 3 lakh from the Chief Minister's funds to the kin and widow of Suraj who was murdered in the police custody.
He also sought the cooperation of the opposition to take on the various mafias in the state.
The House unanimously approved the Motion of Thanks to Governor's address with a voice vote. UNI
