Preparedness for 8th National Voters Day finalized

GANDERBAL, JANUARY 23: Additional Deputy Commissioner, Syed Shahnawaz Bukhari, today convened a meeting to review the preparedness regarding celebration of 8th National Voters Day on January 25.

During the meeting, it was decided that the main function shall be held at DC office complex.

Highlighting the need to improve the gender gap ratio in electoral rolls, ADC said that PVC Electoral Photo Identity Cards (EPICs) shall also be distributed among the first time registered voters by DEO, EROs and AEROs on the day. Besides, BLOs who have registered maximum number of additions or modifications shall be felicitated by DEO for their best performance. It was also decided in the meeting that all the AERO’s shall celebrate the NVD with prompt and show at their respective headquarters in order to disseminate the message of the importance of voter registration.

The meeting was attended by Deputy District Election Officer, Ganderbal, Chief Education Officer, Ganderbal, Deputy Chief Education officer, Ganderbal, District Informatics officer and AERO’s / Tehsildars.
