New Delhi, Jan 23: Traders across the national capital on Tuesday observed a 'Delhi Trade Bandh' to lodge their protest against the ongoing sealing of business establishments in the City.
Commercial establishments in various parts of the city remained closed following the Bandh called by the CAIT in protest against the on-going sealing drive carried out by the civic bodies.
A member of the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) said, "Its a Trade Bandh and as such shutters of the shops will remain closed in all markets and no commercial activity will take place.'
The traders have also demanded amnesty scheme to protect trade, the member said. 
The traders held protests at 6 different places in Delhi. The member said that the main protest 'dharna' was held at Chowk Hauz Qazi, Chawri Bazar Metro Station and Ajmeri Gate from 1200 hours to 1400 hours.
More than seven lakh traders of over 2000 business establishments have shut their business for a day. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Congress and the BJP's traders' wing are also supporting the bandh.
The trade wing of AAP staged protest holding bowls in their hands to protest against sealing drive here. Traders of Karol Bagh also protested on the same.
Delhi police has made elaborate arrangements in markets across the city to avoid any untoward incident. UNI
