New Delhi, Feb 21: A delegation of Congress
leaders on Wednesday met Delhi Lt Governor Anil Baijal over the alleged assault
of Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash and demanded an apology from Aam Aadmi Party
(AAP) on the issue.
The delegation, led by Delhi PCC chief Ajay Maken and former
Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, demanded that the adequate security be
provided to Delhi government officers and that action be taken against those
guilty in the incident.
Talking to reporters after meeting the LG, former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit,'Government of Delhi should tender an apology.'
ALso part of the delegation were former Delhi Congress chief Aravinder Singh Lovely, former Delhi Minister Haroon Yusuf and former Speakers of Delhi Assembly Yoganand Shastri .
Later, in a tweet, Maken said,'our demand-Provide adequate security to officers & take action against hooligans! Kejriwal should Apologise-Delhi deserves better.'
Mr Maken on Tuesday alleged that there was hardly a week left for rolling out the budget for Delhi and it was on the instance of the CM that such antics were being played to cover up the non performance of the government and blaming it on the bureaucracy.
He said the Delhi government was going through an 'administrative paralysis'. UNI
