Lucknow, Feb 10: Poor families affected by visceral leishmaniasis, encephalitis and natural
calamity in Uttar Pradesh will get free homes under soon to be launched
‘Mukhyamantri Awas Yojna Grameen’ scheme.
Principal secretary Rural development Anurag Srivastava here
on Saturday said that a government order in this reference has been issued. The
families affected by visceral leishmaniasis, encephalitis and natural calamity
which were not included in eligibility list of Pradhanmantri Awas Yojna Rural
as per 2011 census will get free homes under the scheme.
Mr Srivastava said that guidelines to list these families have been issued and house will be provided in the name of woman member or jointly to head couple. In the absence of a female, the allotment will be on male member.
Scheme funded by state government will benefit the unprivileged tribes like Tharu, Vantangiya and Mushar said Mr Srivastava, adding that families will get 25 square meter area home with kitchen and toilets. The house will cost 1.20 lakh in normal areas while 1.30 lakh in naxal affected areas.
Tharu, Vantangiya and Mushar are the tribes spread over eastern parts of UP at Indo-Nepal border. UNI
