Kochi, Feb 13: In
a tragic incident, five labourers were killed and three others injured when a
fire broke out on-board Sagar Bhushan, a ship owned by the Oil and Natural Gas
Corporation (ONGC), which was undergoing repair works at the Cochin Shipyard here
on Tuesday.
According to police sources, the incident took place when the
workers were engaged in the water tank of the ship.
The exploratory drill ship of the ONGC was berthed at the yard for its maintenance and repairing, the sources added.
Two of the deceased were identified as Ramshad, a native of Vypin and Kevin belongs from Pathanamthita, sources said.
The injured were admitted to a private hospital here, sources added.
