New Delhi, Feb 21: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Azad Singh on Wednesday said AAP was being hounded on the issue and that there is no proof that Delhi Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash was beaten.
'We are being hounded. Delhi Chief Secretary says he was beaten by AAP MLAs. There is no proof that he was beaten,' Mr Singh said while addressing mediapersons here.
Mr Singh said MLA Prakash Jarwal had complained about misbehaviour against him and now he is under arrest.
'Every single day there is an attempt by the BJP government to dismiss and destroy AAP.
A number of false allegations have been levelled against us,' he said.
'Nafrat iss hadd tak, vidhayakon ke khilaf karyavahi iss hadd tak ke hamare ek vidhayak Somnath Bharti ke kutte ko pakadne ke liye 40 Delhi Police ke jawan jaate hain,' he said.
Mr Singh said,'If rape happens in Delhi, criminals will not be caught. If theft or robbery is happening then criminals will not be caught. But if you lift the flag of AAP, then you will be caught and put into jail.'
He said whenever a big incident occurs in the country, the AAP is a soft target for suppressing it.
'It is a planned conspiracy to defame us,' he said.
'Joining the AAP is a big crime in the eyes of the Central Government. Our ministers were attacked but no action was taken and instead action was taken against our MLA,' he said.
AAP leader Ashutosh said,'The Chief Secretary and the peon are same in the eyes of the law. MLAs are arrested only on the statement of the Chief Secretary. But there is a video of the assault attack on the minister--evidence is available but no action is taken on that.'
'There are CCTV cameras everywhere in the Secretariat, so AAP requests that their footage should be checked,' Mr Ashutosh said. 'Since day one, AAP is being targeted. Is working for people a crime? The Home Minister should have heard us, our leaders have never resorted to violence,' he added. UNI
