Jammu, Mar 22: Higher Education Department under the stewardship of Principal Secretary Dr Asgar Samoon has ventured into various vistas of academic and literary excellence. As a significant addition to such endeavors, Research Journals of various languages including English, Hindi, Sanskrit,Persian, Urdu and regional languages like Dogri, Kashmiri and Punjabi etc, also, saw their dawn for the first time ever in the history of the Department. These journals are scheduled to be released on quarterly basis.
Journal of Urdu language titled "Aala Taleem" was released today by Dr Asgar Samoon, Principal Secretary Higher Education in Govt Women College Gandhinagar Jammu amidst various literati and members of Editorial board of other research journals. During this function various literary forums of J and K including Anjuman Baqa-E-Urdu J and K, Adbi Kunj Jammu, Jammu Civil Society,  Urdu Markaz Jammu, Urdu Scholars Association Jammu, Kehkashan Cultural Organization Jammu, Anjum Dabistan E Himalaya Rajouri and Virasat The Heritage Poonch felicitated Dr Samoon with mementoes as a token of "Thanksgiving." This gesture was aimed at highlighting the leviathan contribution of Dr Samoon in bringing research to the domain of College teachers. Innumerable measures have been adopted by the Department of Higher Education to keep the zeal of a researcher alive in College fraternity. These high quality research journals which are framed on UGC guidelines of API score have provided a platform to the entire fraternity to showcase their literary pursuits and hold testimony to the academic excellence of the fraternity.
In addition to this,Dr Samoon has catered to the long pending demand of “State Urdu Council” within a very short span. His dynamic and practical vision has only ensured the timely fruition of various significant policies formulated in favour of Urdu fraternity of State.
Dr Asgar Damion chaired the event which was organized by Gandhinagar College in it's auditorium and attended by prominent literary figures of Jammu and Kashmir including Arsh Sahbai, Mr Pritpal Singh,Pt Vidya Ratan Aasi, Mr Farooq Nazki, Dr Koshal Samnotra,Prof Quddos Javed, Prof Asadullah Wani,Mr Farooq Muztar,Dr Javed Rahi, Mr Autar Krishan Mota, Mr Khursheed Bismil, Mr Nisar Rahi,Prof Sudhanshu Sharma, Prof Rashu Sharma, Prof Ashfaq Khan.
The entire event was conducted and monitored by Dr Daljeet Verma, Dr Liaqat Jafri and Prof Irfan Ali Arif, members Editorial Board, Urdu Journal.
