Patna, Mar 9: RJD
chief Lalu Prasad today claimed that Bihar was not accorded the status of
special state due to ‘narrow-minded and negative' attitude of Chief Minister
Nitish Kumar.
Mr Prasad in his official Twitter account said,
“In 2003, the then Prime Minister Vajpayee Ji had come to Patna. Rabri Devi,
who was chief minister at that time had very firmly demanded accordance of
special status to Bihar by presenting facts before him. Vajpayee Saheb even
conceded her demand as he had himself divided the state in 2001. So he
(Vajpayee Ji) was aware of facts.”
Continuing his tirade against Mr Kumar in same vein, Mr Prasad said, “But, Nitish Kumar who was the railway minister at that time accompanied Vajpayee Ji in the latter`s car on way to airport. Nitish told Vajpayee Ji that his politics would be finished if his government granted special status to Bihar. His (Nitish) government would never be formed. In such a way, Bihar was denied its right of (special status) due to Nitish`s parochial and negative thinking.” UNI
