New Delhi, Mar 8: For the fourth consecutive day, proceedings in the Rajya Sabha were stalled on Thursday as Opposition members forced repeated adjournments over the demand for special category status for Andhra Pradesh and banks scam -- the last being finally for the day.
When the House reassembled at 1400 hrs after the first adjournment, papers were tabled in the House.
Despite a short duration discussion being listed on scams in public sector banks and failure of banking regulators, it could not be taken up as Opposition members led by Congress, Telugu Desam Party, DMK and AIADMK entered the Well of the House raising various demands.
As the din prevailed, Deputy Chairperson P J Kurien after briefly attempting to restore order then adjourned the House for the day. UNI
