POONCH APRIL 12: District Development Commissioner Poonch, Mohammed Aijaz Asad today convened a meeting to review the progress on implementation of various schemes of Rural Development Department in the district.
During the meeting, the progress of developmental works being executed under   under MGNREGA, PMAY, BADP, cluster Model villages, 13-14 FC, SBM and 'convergence schemes mode’ were reviewed thread bare.
DDC directed the officers to work with added zeal so that the set targets are achieved in time. He said that schemes like MGNREGA are meant to create viable and durable assets which cater local demand and issue of the villages/panchayats and to provide livelihood to the economically weaker sections of the society.
He stressed for creating some creative and multidimensional nature of works as per demand and requirements of local populace in the district which includes a target of 100 bunkers along border villages, 172 play grounds and 200 footbridges.
He called for proper verification of active job cards besides seeding of job cards with Aadhaar at the earliest. He also directed BDOs to increase the completion rate of works started under MGNREGA.
Keeping in view, the poor performance of Aadhaar seeding with MGNREGA job cards, he asked ADDC to hold separate meeting with the concerned.
The DDC stressed on greater transparency in implementation of developmental works and judicious use of funds and enjoined upon BDOs for timely payment wages to labourers submitting utilization certificate, Geo tagging of works, registration works on MIS portal so that process of funding may flow smoothly.
While reviewing TSP works, the DDC said that priority should be given to strengthen rural connectivity, augmentation of power supply network and availability of water supply in cluster Model villages along with other nature of works like building of CFCs, Anganwadi centres (AWCs) ration depots building so as to overcome 'gapfilling' issues in rural areas.
While taking stock of Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM), the DDC was informed that that 34 number of panchayats from different blocks shall be declared ODF by end of this month.
Earlier ACD & DPO presented detailed presentation and apprised the chair regarding status of development schemes including funds available, released, utilised and balance during the financial year 2016-17 and 17-18
ADC, Mukthar Ahmad Sheikh, DPO, Muklhis Ahmad Quarishi besides Xen, AEEs, and BDOs attended the meeting.
