Jammu, Apr 23: Congress led opposition parties notice for removal of Chief
Justice of India Dipak Misra has been out rightly rejected by the Rajya Sabha
Chairman, Shri Venkaiah Naidu, citing lack of substantial merit in it. This
followed at the heels of the historic judgement in Justice Loya Case, where the
Supreme Court not only slammed the Congress Party for settling political scores
and “maligning” judiciary but also for wasting time of the court by filing
“frivolous” petitions. There cannot be a bigger slap on the face of Congress
Party than this claimed Brig Anil Gupta, State Spokesperson of BJP.
Bereft of any issues, the Congress in its desperation to win the
2019 Parliamentary elections is trying all stunts including engineering
communal riots but has failed so far in its evil design of polarising the
country, alleged Brig Gupta. Out of desperation, party did not even spare the
third pillar of democracy in our nation and in conspiracy with like-minded
other political parties tried to subjugate the office of Chief Justice of
India, an attempt in which it has not only badly failed but emerged as an
anti-democratic political party claimed Brig Gupta.
Even the Prime Minister has welcomed the rejection terming it as
a victory of democracy. In his 10 page order Mr Naidu said that the
notice has "virtually no concrete verifiable imputation and doesn't
deserve to be admitted". The Congress' attempt has received widespread
criticism among the legal fraternity including top jurists, said Brig
Gupta. It would set a dangerous precedent - for example, the ruling
party could attempt to remove a Chief Justice if it doesn't agree with his
decisions, opined many of the top jurists.
“Our institutions which are an outcome of our Constitution today
need to be saved from the onslaught of the Congress Party. The Congress Party
has spared no institution and is attacking the EC, Supreme Court, Army for
petty political gains”, said our National President Amit Shah who blasted the
Congress party for stooping so low that it has now started attacking our
democratic institutions, asserted the spokesperson.
Brig Gupta also slammed Congress President Rahul Gandhi for
provoking the people by making statements like, “the judiciary has been
crushed. The people have lost faith in judiciary,” during his ‘Save the
Constitution’ Campaign in Delhi. The people of this country hold the judiciary
and the Supreme Court in highest esteem but the political parties like the one
he heads are trying to sow a seed of doubt in their minds by such immature
political moves, alleged Brig Gupta. The ugly attempt of the Congress Party to
give a ‘veiled threat’ to the judiciary and its attempt to weaken the pillars
of our democracy through immature deeds has been nipped in the bud through the
timely and bold action of the Rajya Sabha Chairman by exercising his
constitutional authority said Brig Gupta.
