14: To get himself updated about status of the Court cases related to loan
recovery by the Jammu & Kashmir Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes & Backward
Classes Development Corporation, Vice-Chairperson of this Public Sector
Undertaking (PSU), Balbir Ram Rattan, held a meeting with officials of Jammu
and Samba Districts, along with Legal Assistant at Head Office, Jammu.
Details of
Jammu and Samba Districts were shared with the Vice-Chairperson, wherein he was
briefed that till date 106 cases have been filed under Section 138-NIA by Jammu
District against the defaulters, out of which 97 are pending/ under trial and
09 stand disposed off. Similarly, Samba District has, till date, filed 23 cases
for recovery from the defaulters, out of which 03 have been disposed off and
20 cases are pending/ under trial.
The Vice
Chairperson, Balbir Ram Rattan, was told by the Legal Assistant that these
cases have been filed in different Courts at Jammu and the Corporation Counsels
are pursuing the same so that the loaned money is recovered from such
beneficiaries, who have turned out to be defaulters.
The Vice
Chairperson, on this occasion, made a fervent appeal to the beneficiaries to be
regular in depositing their monthly instalment to the Corporation as the same
money is to be provided to other needy unemployed people of the weaker sections
to set up their own earning units and be self reliant.
Those who
attended the meeting included Jammu District Manager, Joginder Paul Atri,
Corporation Legal Assistant, Mukhtiar Ahmed, Samba District Senior Assistant
Vijay Kumar and Jammu District Junior Assistant Anil Harkar.
