Hyderabad, May 18: The Congress Party and the Janata Dal (Secular) legislators from Karnataka were shifted to star hotels and resort here on Friday from Bengaluru to prevent possible poaching by BJP which has been given 15-days time to prove its majority in the State Assembly by Governor Vajubhai Vala.
However the Supreme Court a shortwhile ago has ordered the floor test on Saturday after resuming the hearing of petitions filed by Congress-Janata Dal (Secular).
Congress and JD(S) leaders have intially planned to shift their legislators by special flights from Benguluru to Hyderabad but decided to take the MLAs in buses to here, because of Aviation Authorities reportedly declined permission for the chartered aircrafts that had been arranged.
According to Congress sources. some Congress MLAs arrived at Taj Krishna hotel located at the posh Banjara hills where Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Uttam Kumar Reddy is looking after all the arrangements.
However, MLAs of Janata Dal Secular were reportedly arrived at a resort, on the outskirts of Hyderabad and some of them were shifted to Novotel hotel in the city.
In view Karnataka lawmakers camping in the city, security is tightened in and around of star hotels and also at resorts in the city.
Congress leader and former Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy talking to a TV channel said that the decision to move the legislators out of Karnataka was taken after some emissaries of the BJP sneaked into the Eagleton resort in Bengaluru and attempted to bribe legislators.
Of the 222 seats to which Assembly Elections was held, BJP bagged 104 seats to emerge as the single largest party. The Congress was reduced to 78 seats while JD(S) won 37 seats. UNI
