New Delhi, May 18: On a day JD(S) and BJP fought a fierce legal battle in the Supreme Court,
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday extended birthday greetings to JD(S) chief and former
Premier H D Deve Gowda.
"Spoke to our former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda Ji and conveyed birthday wishes to him. I pray for his good health and long life," Prime Minister Modi tweeted.
Born on May 18, 1933, Mr Deve Gowda turns 86 on Friday.
The Supreme Court on Friday took up the keenly watched legal battle on the Karnataka political developments.
While BJP leader B S Yeddyurappa was sworn in as Chief Minister on Thursday, the JD(S) with 37 MLAs with support of 78 MLAs of Congress has staked claim to form government. UNI
