KUPWARA, AUGUST 13: In order to review the arrangements put in place with regard to
ensuing Eid-ul-Azha, a meeting of concerned officers was held here today with
Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir in chair.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Mohammad Yousuf Mir, ACR Mohammad
Abdullah Malik, besides officers from Social Welfare Department, Transport
Department, FCS&CA, Revenue, Municipality, Food Safety, Fire &
Emergency Services Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Police, PDD, Health,
PHE and other departments.
The meeting discussed threadbare various issues relating to the
facilities with strict directions to ensure market checking, establishment of
mandis for sale of sacrificial animals, poultry birds, implementation of
government approved rate list and proper sanitation of eidgahs and mosques.
The DC directed the concerned Officers to intensify market
checking across the district to curb the menace of hoarding and
illegal profiteering. He said that sale of market items at fixed rates should
be ensured in letter and spirit.
DC directed the Sheep Husbandry Officer to install signboards at all the
identified places facilitating availability of sacrificial animals and
instructed for wide publicity of identified places.
It was given out that the identified spots include Public Park
Kupwara, Sumo Stand Tregham, Bus Stand Kralpora, Main Chowk Sogam, Main Chowk
Kuligam, Main Chowk Langate, Bus Stand Handwara, Main market Villgam/ Taratpora
and SDO Office Gomal, Tanghdar Karnah.
The meeting also discussed the rates of chicken, mutton, milk, cheese,
vegetables etc. during which the DC directed for intensified market checking
for regulations of rates.
The DC also directed the concerned Officers to ensure uninterrupted
power supply, drinking water, healthcare facilities, repair of defunct
street lights, availability of water tankers, essential commodities, mobile
ambulance etc as per requirement.
He said that all arrangement should be made before hand. He urged
officers to work with coordination and cohesion towards ensuring peaceful
celebration of Eid-ul-Adha.
