Education Deptt celebrates Teachers Day

JAMMU, AUGUST 05: To mark the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a colourful programme was organized by Education Department at Teacher Bhawan, here today.

Chief Education Officer Jammu, J.K. Sudan was the chief guest on the occasion.

  District Education Planning Officer, Swaran Singh and Deputy Chief Education Officer, Devinder Singh Manhas were also present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, CEO impressed upon the teachers to impart quality and moral education to the students as they are the nation builders. He asserted that the teachers are backbone of the society and can play a great role in building up the character of the students and shape them to become an ideal citizen of the country.

On the occasion, a one act play “Refund” written by Fritz Karanthy was also performed by the students of GGHSS Shastri Nagar.

The schools participated in celebration were GGHSS Nowabad, HSS Kandoli Nagrota, GHSS Shastri Nagar, HS Chowadhi, HS Ghar Majoor.

Pertinent to mention that, the play “Refund” performed by GGHSS Shastri Nagar emerged as the winner at the divisional level competition held at HSS Gandhi Nagar.

 The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Sunita Pandit besides light refreshment was provided by Peak Automobiles to the participants.  Vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Sushma I/c Cultural Cell, Directorate of School Education Jammu.
