Sept 22: The School of Languages & Literature
organised one-day National Doctoral Students Conclave today at Shri Mata
Vaishno Devi University, Katra (SMVDU) where research scholars of J&K
universities and other states, participated and presented their papers on
various topics, including Dalit Studies, Queer Studies, Public Sphere, Western
Pahari Languages, Management, Philosophy and Cultural Studies.
The School of Languages & Literature is a leading
research-oriented department in the university which organises academic events
and activities on regular basis. During the inaugural session, Prof. D. Mukhopadhyay,
Dean, Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences, SMVDU was the chief
guest on the occasion. Addressing the gathering Prof. Mukhopadhyay emphasised
on the qualities of a good research and researcher, while enumerating that
iteration process of methods, questions and data is important.
On The Occasion, Dr. Amitabh V Dwivedi, coordinator
& Head, School of Languages & Literature gave a detail that the
school felicitated NET & SET qualified students of the school. Many
quality papers were presented and based on their presentations three scholars,
namely Ms. Bhushan Shamra, Ms. Ayushi & Ms. Parul Priya were awarded
with cash prize and certificates. Dr. Anurag Kumar, Convener of the event said
that the conclave is very unique in that it is focused on every spheres of
research. The organising committee thanked Dr. Ashok K. Tarai, Dr. Swarkar
Sharma, Dr. Sadaf Shah, and Dr. Veenet Tyagi for evaluating the presentations.
The Conclave ended with a vote of thanks presented by Dr.
Simran Preet Kaur & Dr. Ranbir Kaur.
