JAMMU, APRIL
28: Sh. Rajesh Gupta, Chairman
Tourism Federation Jammu (TFJ), called on Governor N. N. Vohra at the Raj
Bhavan here today.
Sh. Gupta
offered certain suggestions for enhancing the involvement of Jammu based
traders and tour operators, with the support of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine
Board and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, for boosting tourist traffic to
various leisure locations and pilgrim circuits in the whole State. He urged
that liaison should be established between tour operators and the tourism
department for collective approaches being established for dealing with various
contingencies when tourists get stranded due to inclement weather, organizing
rail and air tickets on priority to enable the outward journeys of tourists and
pilgrims, if they miss their earlier planned schedules.
Governor agreed to a further
meeting being held to discuss Sh. Gupta’s suggestions.
