KUPWARA,
APRIL 29: The District Development Commissioner Kupwara today convened a
meeting of officers and engineers of different Departments to review the
overall developmental scenario and status of ongoing works under various sectors
in the district.
The meeting
was told that Rs. 4 crore have been utilized on execution of 64 health
institutions in the year 2016-17, of which work on almost 50 percent of
buildings has been completed and the remaining are in different stages of
completion, while as work on SDH Zachaldara building would be completed within
next ten days. It was also said that Rs. 30 lakh were utilized on fencing work
at SDH Kupwara
While
reviewing progress of works under Forest, Social Forestry, Soil and Water
Conservation sectors, it was informed that 47 hectares of forest land has been
brought under 53000 saplings planted during a recent drive, besides 61 hectares
of land was fenced to ensure protection of 2.34 lakh plants raised under Compensatory
Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority. The meeting was further
told that 17 nurseries on modern lines have been raised at identified places in
the district.
The meeting
also discussed several issues and problems regarding the forest land disputes
with PMGSY, IFC, Army, BEACON and other Departments.
On the
occasion, the DDC impressed the concerned sectoral heads and executing agencies
to complete all the ongoing works within stipulated time so that people can
avail the benefits of these schemes. He also stressed the officers to work with
diligence and added zeal for the convenience of the people.
