SRINAGAR,
MAY 09: Additional
DGP Armed J&K L. Mohanti,
today promoted 1476 police personnel of J&K Armed Police.
Among the
promoted officials, one Head Constable has been promoted to the rank of
Assistant Sub Inspector, three Selection grade constables (SGCTs) have been
promoted to the rank of Head Constable and 1472 Constables have been promoted
to the rank of Selection Grade Constable in J&K Armed Police.
Formal
orders of these promotions were issued by Armed Police Headquarters J&K
today after the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) headed by L. Mohanti-IPS, Additional DGP
Armed J&K found the individuals eligible for their promotions to the next
ranks.
With the
release of this promotion list, Armed Police Headquarters J&K has completed
the promotion cases of 2640 police personnel of different
ranks within the first five months of the current year 2017. The promotion list
includes promotions of 137 ASIs to the rank of SI, 191 HCs to the rank of ASI,
839Sgcts to the rank of HC and promotions 1473 Constables to the rank of Sgcts.
According
to the ADGP’s office this is for
the first time that such a large number of police personnel of different ranks
have been promoted in one go.

Armed J&K congratulated the promoted officials and extended his warm
greetings to their families. He expressed the hope that the promoted officials
will continue to work with the same zeal and zest and discharge their
respective duties honestly and professionally fully upholding the sanctity of
public Service.
