BUDGAM, MAY 16: Minister of State for Health
and Medical Education, Asiea Naqash, today paid a
visit to the District Hospital Budgam to assess the facilities available to
patients there.
During the visit, the Minister interacted with the patients there and
enquired about the facilities being provided to them at the hospital. She also inspected various sections of the health institutions and
directed the hospital administration to prepare and submit a DPR regarding the
requirements of the hospital within a week’s time.
She said that providing better health care facilities to the people is
the endeavor of the Government and no cavalier and lackadaisical approach by
any of the concerned will be tolerated.
The Minister also directed for better cleanliness and sanitation
measures in and around the hospital premises. She said the issue of expansion
of the hospital building and other infra would be considered on priority. She
also said that request for a USG doctor in the hospital would also be looked
into.
On the occasion, Asiea directed for avoiding unnecessary referrals from
the hospital and maintaining the necessary ratio of IPD with OPD the hospital
receives on daily basis.
The Minister said that the government is keen on uplifting and upgrading
the status of healthcare in all the hospitals in the State, adding that all
CMOs and MSs have been directed to prepare DPRs with regard to beautification
of hospitals.
