PULWAMA,
MAY 25: District Development Commissioner Pulwama, Muneer-ul-Islam, today convened a
meeting of lumberdars and chowkidars and
sought their feedback on developmental activities, welfare schemes, functioning
of schools, supply status of essential commodities, power and water supplies in
their respective areas.
The lumberdars and chowkidars raised the issue of encroachments on Khacharai
and State land in their respective jurisdictions. The DDC said that
encroachments on all the State land will be cleared a time bound manner. He
also directed the tehsildars present in the meeting to keep a strict vigil
on encroachments and land conversion cases. He said that the violators will be
dealt with sternly as per the law.
The meeting also discussed shortage of public transport at many places in the
district. The DDC gave on spot directions to
ARTO to visit those areas and ensure to solve the pressing needs of the people
at the identified locations.
The DDC said that the genuine demands of their respective areas will be taken
care of and necessary measures will be taken to resolve them at the earliest.
Assistant Commissioner Revenue, ARTO, Tehsildars, and other respectables were
present in the meeting.
