SHOPIAN MAY 25: Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri, convened a meeting to discuss the arrangements for forthcoming holy month of Ramadan.
Threadbare discussions were held regarding various measures to be taken for
providing provide best possible services to the people of district in the holy
month.
The DDC directed the PDD officials to ensure adequate supply of electricity
during the month and provide uninterrupted power supply during Sehri and Iftaar
timings.
He also directed FCS&CA Department officials to make available adequate
quantity of Rice, Atta, Sugar, Cooking Gas and K-oil for the consumers of
the district so that the people do not suffer in this regard.
He further asked the
officers of FCS&CA, Municipal Committee, Revenue, Legal Metrology, and Food
Safety to constitute market checking squads to keep a check on profiteering
hoarding and black marketing.
Further, PHE officers
were asked to provide adequate supply of portable drinking water to the people.
The DDC also called for proper cleanliness measures in and around the mosques
and shrines in the district.
Officers of
FCS&CA, Municipal Committee, PHE, PDD, Revenue, Legal Metrology, Food
Safety, Fisheries, Animal & Sheep Husbandry and other concerned attended
the meeting.
